Our client asked us to convert the Portsmouth Central Mosque to include a first floor, thus enabling both male and females to attend the Mosque simultaneously in order to worship, while remaining separate.
For this project in our home town, BSS delivered and installed the primary floor beams for this structure, each weighing up to 1.25 tonnes. The main contractor, Lisbon PD Limited then constructed the first floor, and BSS removed the existing wooden trusses and replaced them with structural hollow section frames located in the ceiling line to provide adequate headroom and strengthen the renovation.
Building Steel Solutions was honoured to be a part of this project, and worked closely with Lisbon PD Limited to complete the Mosque to an impeccable standard.
